It's go time.

I leave in approximately 80 hours. I would be lying if I said I wasn't completely scared out of my wits. I have no idea what to expect when I get down there. There is a list of at least 20 things I need to get before my flight leaves. I'm such a procrastinator.

I'm lucky that I've gotten to spend so much time this week with people that mean the world to me. It's going to make leaving that much harder, yet so much easier.

I suppose I shall give you a rundown of what I'll be doing, because some people don't really know. I'm working at a summer camp called Camp Kentahten in Campbellsville, KY. It's part of the Tim Horton's Children's Foundation which is a wonderful organization that I hold very dear to my heart. The foundation chooses children from all over America and Canada who come from economically disadvantaged households, who would possibly never get the chance to go to a summer camp for a week any other way. The foundation then flies these children to one of the 6 camps across Canada and America (Canada has 5, America only has one) and gives them 10 days of carefree summer camp fun while helping them develop leadership skills, as well as many other things. I get to be one of the lucky counselors who gets to take part in giving them an amazing and memorable experience.

A few points to know while reading this blog (which I am hoping I'll be able to keep updated the whole summer)
-The counselors have "Camp Names" and do not use their real names, so I shall refrain from doing so, as well. Their real first names are revealed to the children on day 9 at the final banquet. I have no idea what mine is going to be, so I will for sure let you know about that.
-I doubt I will be able to update daily, but I will be keeping a handwritten journal with me at all times to copy out of
-Don't expect any rants or tirades, as I don't want to incriminate myself or any other staff members.

Yes, this is just my way of letting anyone that cares know how and what I'm doing down there.

I will miss you all terribly!
